Weekend Getaway

A good childhood friend of Stephen's got married this weekend in San Antonio. With our anniversary a month away, we decided to combine the two for a quick getaway. It was only 30 hours, but we had fun! We stopped off at Luling and Lockhart on the way there and back for some of the best BBQ in the country. Seriously, City Market in Luling, which we hit on the way up, and Smitty's Market in Lockhart, which we hit on the way back, are both mouth-wateringly good. If we had to pick a favorite, though, we would pick City Market. The ribs there were fall-off-the-bone amazing and the sausage was juicy and savory. Oh, and I almost forgot my favorite part -- the secret homemade BBQ sauce. I could drink it. Go there if you haven't been before! We stayed at the JW Hill Country Resort in Northern San Antonio to scout it out to see if it would be a good place to bring the kids. It is like Hill Country Hyatt and Lost Pines but newer and perhaps with a bit bigger water park. We are planning to go back there with the kids this summer! Speaking of our kiddos, a big thanks to my Mom, Brandon, and Noah for their help with the kids while we were gone!! You guys are awesome!! Here are some pics from the trip:
