Soccer Season Ends with a Bang

Stephen coaching both Sophie's and Bella's separate soccer teams this Spring was . . . how to say this . . . time consuming.  But fun too!  And near the end of Sophie's team's first game of the shootout tournament last weekend, Stephen got ejected for arguing with the ref and going onto the field to tend to one of his players who got hurt.  He was actually banned from coaching the rest of the tournament by the moronic ref . . ., but the league overturned the ban.  Anyway, it was an interesting and slightly amusing way to finish off the season.  All the parents came up to us at the end of the game and couldn't believe that their "mild mannered coach" had gotten booted.  Here are pictures from the season and team parties for both Bella's and Sophie's teams.  Thanks to a team photographer dad on Bella's team, we have more pictures from her group than Sophie's.  Sorry, pups.
The Great Blue Sharks.  They weren't the toughest sharks around, but they bit on occasion!

The Mean Green Gummy Bears.  Yes, that was the name they chose.  They loved to tie games.

Team party and awards at Willie's.

"Daaaad!  Stop embarassing me!"

Stephen couldn't have made it through the season without the help of my cousin, Brandon (or Brandini, as our kids call him), who was the assistant coach on both teams.  DeAnn Moore also helped with Bella's team.

Coach appreciation gift cards make it all worth it! :)

This is the look one of the girls gave Stephen when he said she was their number one bug catcher!  Seven and eight year old girls love to catch bugs on the sidelines.
