Fathers-Sons Calvert Campout

The men on Stephen's side of the family have decided to start an annual tradition of doing an overnight campout for the fathers and sons every Good Friday in honor of Stephen's dad (who ironically never really liked to camp, a gene Stephen inherited).  But a few of the boy cousins, including Harrison, are in the perfect age range for camping, and Uncle Mo is quite the expert camper, so this makes sense.  And it is fitting to do it on Easter Weekend.  This first year's campout was a big success!  Not all the fathers and sons in the family could make it because of conflicts, and that is ok.  Those who can make it each year will do so, and those who can't will join back in the next year.  That way, the annual tradition will hopefully take root and grow.  Here are some pictures from the campout, which took place at Stephen F. Austin State Park.

The rains stayed away and the weather turned out to be perfect.

Mo cooked a feast for dinner -- steak, shrimp, fish, rice, hot dogs, s'mores!!

It was Harrison's first (again, not his dad's passion) real campout, and he had a blast!
