So much going on!

With Stephen working in Salt Lake City, the kids in full school and extracurricular mode, selling our house in Sugar Land (that we just moved into a year ago and will really miss), buying a house in SLC (in a great neighborhood; we are excited!), and me working full time, things have been a tad hectic (to say the least).  But we can see a light at the end of the tunnel and our family will be reunited for good in a few weeks!  Though sometimes we have struggled, we have tried to enjoy this winding journey the last several months, and we are very grateful for the tender mercies of the Lord along the way.

"Better is often harder."  That is our new family motto.  And we have enjoyed finding the rainbows during and after the rains, quite literally in some instances given the historic flooding in Houston and a beautiful mountain rainbow we saw on the BYU campus last week.

I went up to SLC for another house hunting trip with Stephen a few weekends ago during General Conference weekend.  One of the houses we looked at had the Back to the Future car!

While in Utah, we met up with my cousin, Clayton, at Wafflelove.

Wafflelove is pretty fantastic and totally healthy.  :)
We went to a session of General Conference and walked the grounds of Temple Square afterwards.  So beautiful.

Shawn's family went on a trip to Utah a couple of weekends later and ended up on the same flight as Stephen from Houston to SLC!  They didn't know they would be on the same flight and then saw each other on the plane!

So they got the hang out a bit, including visiting with the Macs at BYU-P.

Last weekend, the kids and I went up to Utah to be with Stephen, give the kids a preview of their new home and new surroundings, and to have some fun!

Unfortunately, despite our smiles, all the kids and I were getting over the flu, and Harrison was still dang sick.

We tried to brave it at the Park City Olympic Village . . .

Where there is still snow on the ground . . .

And lots of memorabilia from the 2002 games . . .

But the day was a bit of a downer with everyone either sick or getting over being sick.  We soldiered on and tried to have as a good a time as we could.

We did make a special trip to Evanston, Wyoming, where Stephen's mom was born and raised.  This is the house she grew up in.  We miss her so much. . .

We also miss my Dad, whom the kids never really knew.  Only Sophie was living when he passed.

We went to the BYU bookstore, where Granny V used to work!

And we met Naomi on campus after she finished her shift at the library.  We then went and ate some Cafe Rio, though Harrison stayed in the car with Stephen because he felt too sick.

We stayed at Little America's and enjoyed the beautiful Tulips across the street at the Grand American.  The whole day Sunday, other than going to see our new house, we stayed in the hotel room the whole day.  Harrison was so sick that we thought we might have to take him to the emergency room.  But he received a blessing from Stephen and Sam and made it through the next 24 hours and then started to slightly improve.

Finally everyone got better this week, and we celebrated Bella's birthday this past weekend.

She picked a couple of friends to join us for pedicures, dinner, and dessert.  Harrison tagged along for the food because Stephen was still out of town and I had not made arrangements for him to go to a friends.  :)

Stephen got into town on Saturday and we went to an Astros game.  We will miss all the things the big city of Houston has to offer.  The kids were a little underwhelmed by SLC when we brought them up, but they loved the beauty and are looking forward to the youth programs and outdoor fun!

The weather was beautiful during the game.

The roof was open and the the air was clear.  We had a fun time even though they lost in extra innings!
