Bear Lake Trip

For Stephen's 40th birthday, we went to beautiful bear lake for three days.  We had a lot of fun jet skiing, boating, playing in the water, playing board games, and eating good food (especially the yummy Raspberry shakes at La Beau's)!

On our drive home, we stopped in Kemmerer and Evanston, Wyoming -- where Stephen's parents were from (Evanston for Sarah) or their families lived (Kemmerer for Terry).  We found family grave sites in Kemmerer, including the site where Mary Robb Orr Calvert was buried.  The kids have done presentations on her at school and family history work in the temples for some of her siblings who stayed in Scotland while she ventured to America and ended up in Wyoming by chance.  We also ate at a good diner in Evanston, called Jody's, which happened to be right next to the land where Stephen's uncle used to run a motel and store.  It was the one-year anniversary of Sarah's passing that day, so we felt very close to her, being in her hometown near her old stomping grounds. These small towns are not much to behold (although Kemmerer is the home of the very first J.C. Penney store :)), but they hold a lot of meaning to Stephen's family and therefore to our family.
