An interesting time in history. But we tried to make the best of it. While Covid19 and riots raged, and with much of normal life suspended, we tried to still make good memories. The kids and I had a great 10-day trip to Utah in July! We visited family, celebrated Grandma Call's 90th bday, went to Zion National Park, hiked Stuart falls, met up with Taylor and Jen and their boys, saw old friends, and enjoyed a break from the Texas summer humidity and heat. Stephen started a new job as chief legal officer of a company and celebrated another midlife birthday. Harrison started golf lessons at the club. Sophie and Emme did lots of tennis at the club (resulting in a buckle fracture of the left arm for Emme when she fell backpedaling for a lob). Bella did dance via zoom with her school team, practiced for the SAT, and took an online summer course. She practiced driving too. We watched movies, swam, went on lots of jogs and walks as a family, and gathered with Stephen's siblings and their families from time to time. Next week school starts again (online because of the virus) for Bella, Harrison, and Emme. Sophie and I head up to Provo to move her into the dorm for her first semester at BYU, which will be partly in person and partly online. She is excited and we are excited for her!!
