A Dozen Years

Last week Stephen's parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary! Nearly 30 members of the Calvert clan, through birth or marriage, gathered in Galveston for 3 days to enjoy each other's company and reminisce. I will post more about that fun event when I do the 2010 summer recap.

As part of the festivities, the kids put together a video/slideshow for the celebration. I thought it would be a good idea to post on this blog some of the pictures we gathered of our family unit for the video. To avoid one big photo dump in one post, I am going to divide the pictures into categories and do a separate post for each category over the next several months. This first post in the series features pictures of me and Stephen from the time we started dating to the present. The first picture above is from Fall of 1998. My college roommate and I were DJing an institute dance with Stephen. Although we had gone on a Sadie Hawkins date a year earlier and hung out in group settings, our first real date came shortly after this photo was taken.
