First Day

Summer seems to have flown by this year. I think having a pool made summer so much more enjoyable and easy. It seemed to make the time pass much more quickly than usual. I can't believe the kids are already heading back to school!

I can't believe my two big girls are in fourth grade and second now! I was a little sad to see them go the first day, BUT it has been incredibly peaceful at home with only Emme and Harrison here. Em and Harrison start preschool next week, so I'm easing into having the all of the kids go back to school (the little ones will only go for 3 days a week..,. it's not like I have it totally made).

We've been working with Emme on potty training, and she is doing fabulous. She has such a cute and sweet personality. Sometimes at night when she is really tired she gets completely out of character and will scream the songs to you that she wants you to sing while you rock her to sleep - "NO," She'll wail, "I WANT 'JESUS WANTS ME FOR A SUNBEAM' NOT WHEELS ON THE BUS!!" It cracks us up because normally she is so mild mannered. But when she is very tired, she gets mean and bossy. I'm so glad she's my baby. It's going to be nice to have her at home for two more years after Harrison starts Kindergarten next year.

Here are Sophie and Bella the morning of their first day back - it's nice to have them at the same school together. Two more years and Sophie will be off to middle school. I am feeling old.
