School Activities

Each year in first grade at the kids' elementary school, the students have to give a presentation about their heritage.  Sophie and Bella gave theirs on one of Stephen's ancestors, Mary Orr, who immigrated to the United States from Scotland.  She was a strong and brave lady who came here on her own in her early 20's and started a life in Wyoming.  Harrison did not want to do a presentation on "a girl," however, and once he found out that he is a not-too-distant relative of Mitt Romney, he wanted to focus on my side of the family tree and his connection to Mitt.  Here is the poster we created for his presentation.  He was pretty proud of it and did a great job with the presentation!!
My grandfather Mac's dad, Charley Call, and Mitt Romney's dad, George Romney, were first cousins!  They were both grandsons of Helaman Pratt, who was a son of Parley P. Pratt.  The Pratts and the Calls founded the Mormon Colonies in Mexico in the late 1880's.
Later in the week, Sophie made this awesomely ugly holiday sweater for a bad sweater contest at school!
Ugtastic!!

Awesome job, Harrison and Sophie! Sorry that Naomi fell asleep tonight. She is still trying to get back on Houston time, and she dozed off when she went in her room to get ready to come over to Grandma's house.
