On the way home from church today, Bella and her dad had the following funny and endearing exchange.
Bella: Dad, I just shared with Emme and Harrison. Does that earn me points toward a sleepover at grandmas?
Dad: Yes, Bella, that does. I am so glad you are sharing with your little brother and sister. That makes me proud, and I love you when you share.
[A little pause.]
Dad: In fact, I love you when you don't share. I love you when you make good choices and bad choices. Nothing can change that ever, but I am proud of you when you make good choices like sharing.
[Another little pause.]
Bella: Would you still love me if I killed you?
[Say whaaaat?!? Burst of laughter from everyone in the car.]
Bella: I mean, of course I would never do anything like that to anyone, but could you still love me then?
Dad: Yes, Bella, even then I could still love you, but I will now sleep with both eyes open instead of just one.
