Hectic Hard Weekend

Why a hectic and hard weekend you may ask. Because:

(1) Thursday night Stephen came down with strep throat and got really sick. By Friday evening his throat started to swell so much that he could hardly talk or swallow even a sip of water. He looked awful, had a high fever, and had white pus all over his throat. He is doing better now that the antibiotics have kicked in fully, but he was wiped out and painfully ill all weekend.

(2) It was the Primary Hoe-down Party on Saturday and the "Great to be 8" Primary Fireside on Sunday night.

(3) My mom's brother came into town to pick my grandpa up and take him back to Battle Mountain for the next 6 months or so, and we had a going away dinner.

(4) Harrison was diagnosed with yet another ear infection on Friday.

(5) Sophie just finished battling yet another ear infection.

(6) Between all the illness and events, I have only slept 3-4 hours the last couple of nights.

(7) I lost my iPhone at church (but then found it thankfully later that evening).

(8) Not technically part of the weekend, but Bella was diagnosed with strep throat at the doctor's this morning. Thankfully, hers seems to be a mild case.

Despite the illnesses and hectic scheduling, all of the planned events ended up going fairly well. And I have to once again say just how grateful I am for modern medicine! It really boggles the mind to think what life would be like without the advancements of the last several decades. From penicillin and its derivatives to advancements in surgery and delivery of newborns, we are greatly blessed!

Here are some photos from the weekend.
